Your new role

Are you passionate about social justice and supporting people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity? Wintringham seeks a compassionate, proactive individual to join our Tasmanian team in a hybrid role. While primarily a direct support role, you will also undertake tenancy management tasks with support from the southern tenancy team.

This role offers more than a job—it's an opportunity to empower older Australians who have experienced or are at risk of homelessness. We deliver trauma-informed, person-centred care within the Housing Connect framework, respecting individuality and promoting dignity.

Your responsibilities include:

  1. Case management of referrals from Housing Connect, aligned with the Housing Connect system.
  2. Working with residents by linking and referring them to allied and clinical services, social, and recreational activities.
  3. Facilitating access to Home Care Packages (HCP) and NDIS supports through referrals, service navigation, and case management.
  4. Reviewing client files across program areas to ensure accurate, timely documentation and monitor service quality.
  5. Responding to client feedback and complaints per Wintringham policies and procedures.
  6. Utilising sector relationships to assist access to other services and systems.

Tenancy tasks will be undertaken with support from the southern tenancy team.

We are looking for candidates with:

  1. A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Certificate IV in Community Services, Community Housing, or equivalent experience in homelessness or community services (minimum 2 years).
  2. At least 2 years' experience working with vulnerable populations, including aged care, mental health, or allied health services.
  3. A current Tasmanian driver's license.
  4. First Aid Certificate Level 2.
  5. Experience as a support worker in homelessness or intensive case management.
  6. Understanding of the housing and homelessness sector, My Aged Care, NDIS, and related systems.
  7. Knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act (Tasmania) and ability to undertake tenancy-related tasks.
