It caters for students in Years 9 to 12 who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from mainstream education.
The students referred to MacKilllop Education Waranara School have a history and/or ongoing experience of trauma, mental health and or other disabilities such as mild learning difficulties, ASD and ADHD.This is a Full-time ongoing opportunity based in Annadale NSW at MacKillop Education Waranara School.
About The Role We are seeking a dedicated Student Wellbeing Advisor to provide support to students supports in regulating themselves and empowering students to thrive.
The Student Wellbeing Advisor supports students to meet educational and wellbeing needs to achieve high school qualifications.This position will require you to support the student by liaising with families, healthcare professionals and staff and will involve working closely with the broader team, MacKillop Education staff, community stakeholders and partners to achieve positive outcomes for students.The role is also responsible for ensuring that Mackillop Education Waranara School is child safe, complies with all regulatory and funding requirements and manages risk within the school.If you are passionate about supporting student success and well-being, we encourage you to apply.

Key Selection Criteria To be successful in this role, you will have:Formal qualifications in one of the following: Counselling, Psychology, and/or Social Work, or equivalent significant demonstrated experience.Professional history of working with young people who have a lived experience of complex trauma and/or mental health within a school.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of adolescent development and trauma informed practices.Ability to demonstrate professional agility and empathy in a school context.Ongoing commitment to strong self-care, boundaries, insight and self-awareness.Please address the full Key Selection Criteria outlined in the Position Description in a Cover Letter as part of your application.
