The Team :The Department of Critical Care Medicine (DCCM) is a tertiary-level unit providing expert Intensive and High Dependency care to over 1,400 patients annually.

We value clinical excellence, consumer-focused care, collaboration, and open communication.This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in an energetic environment with access to various clinical and research projects, where your skills will have a tangible impact daily.The Role :As a key leader within DCCM, you will develop, implement, and evaluate quality improvement and nursing practice initiatives collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
Your responsibilities include leading clinical risk management strategies to ensure best practices and patient-centered outcomes, providing clinical advice, and acting as a role model.
You will evaluate current practices, develop policies and protocols, foster a culture of learning and research, oversee application of National Standards, monitor care outcomes, and report findings to staff and hospital committees.
Additionally, you will review safety events, contribute to nursing education, and participate in safety and quality processes.
Other duties aligned with your expertise may also be assigned.You will need :Extensive experience as a Registered Nurse with advanced critical care expertise, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.Leadership ability to develop clinical practice, guide, and motivate a multidisciplinary team in quality improvement, research, and risk management activities.Proven capability to implement changes and develop clinical directions through planning and research.Note : - Please refer to the Statement of Duties to address all selection criteria in your application.Details of appointment :This is a permanent, full-time day position, working 76 hours per fortnight, starting as soon as possible, with hours to be negotiated.Note: The selection process may be used for similar vacancies within twelve months of publication.Salary : $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (pro-rata).
Employer superannuation contributions of 12% are additional.Salary is aligned with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.Additional allowances may include:Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification.Salary Packaging :Options available for salary packaging benefits, including living expenses up to $9,010 and meal entertainment up to $2,650 annually, plus other benefits if eligible.Benefits for eligible candidates :Professional development opportunities.Various leave entitlements, including study leave and PD support.Fitness Passport access for you and your family to 40+ facilities across Tasmania for $13.95/week per person or $25.95 for a family.More information about employee benefits can be found here.Eligibility :Applicants must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
