The multidisciplinary team comprises Registered and Enrolled nurses; Consultant, Registrar and Resident medical officers; Pharmacist, Social Work, Music Therapist, Physiotherapist, Extended care assistants, Hospital assistants, Administration/Ward Clerk staff and Hospice Volunteers.
The Role: The Clinical Nurse Educator - Palliative Care (CNE) operates as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering palliative care services to patients, their families, and carers across the respective region of Tasmania.
The CNE is responsible for: Facilitating and supporting the development of nursing team members by planning, promoting, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating education programs in palliative care.
Providing professional advanced clinical leadership and expertise in the delivery of clinical advice, assessment and interventions based on best practice in the health care management of people with a life limiting illness.
Contributing to learning and development programs for other health disciplines and volunteers.

You will need: Demonstrated advanced clinical practice experience in palliative care, encompassing acute and community-based services, including primary health care.
Demonstrated ability to apply teaching and learning strategies in the clinical area, including the development, implementation and evaluation of professional development, education, and training activities.
Sound knowledge of contemporary education theories and practice, health and professional development issues, and their impact on the knowledge and skill requirements of the nursing workforce.

Details of appointment: Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 64hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of up to twelve (12) months.*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary:$114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata).
Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type Salary Packaging: You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse Current Driver's Licence.
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable: Holds or is working towards relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualification in specialised palliative care management with experience working in the community setting.
