**About the role**:
As Baby Bunting continues our journey to be customer first, we are seeking a Merchandise Buyer to manage a large portfolio of Manchester & Bedding, Cots & Furniture, Maternity, Electronics & Sleep.

As our Buyer - Sleep, Cots & Furniture & Baby Monitors, you will select and develop innovative and relevant products aligned to the Baby Bunting customer whilst working closely with our buying assistants and planning team to develop and execute merchandise plans to ensure we maximise sales, profit and supplier income.

Your experience in furniture buying & a high SKU count category will support your success in this very fast paced role.

Your passion, agility and strong commercial acumen will be prominent, as will your strong supplier and stakeholder relationship building and influencing abilities.

Please note - this is a 12 month parental leave contract

**Your Day to - Day**:
**Product Development & Ranging**
- Management and accountability for setting range plans and product selection strategy, justified by data driven insights and trend reports
- Product sales channel selection

**Strategy & Market Analysis**
- Determine a pricing strategy in line with Baby Bunting's strategic & financial goals
- Conduct competitor analysis and evaluate product direction / price & marketing activity
- Analyse, track and monitor the performance of ranges, products and the overall brand/category including seasonal range reviews and assortment strategy

**Financial Planning and Analysis**
- Forecast sales, GP% and supplier income
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve a purchase price range when selecting and purchasing product that will deliver margin targets required by the business as well as negotiating trading terms annually and other sources of income from suppliers.

**Relationship Management**
- Build strong relationships with suppliers to deliver financial budgets
- Partner with Marketing & Digital to deliver product / brand / campaign plans

**About you**:

- Extensive experience in retail buying, gained in a multi-department retail environment
- Solid commercial and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience of working in a fast-paced retail environment with strong buying/category management experience
- Ideally, you will have 7+ years' experience, in a similar Buying role within Furniture and Electronics
