DroneShield (ASX:DRO) offers an opportunity to solve some of the world's most challenging technical problems in Electronic Warfare, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, RF sensing, Sensor Fusion and distributed systems.
Working with high profile customers across militaries, government agencies, airports, critical infrastructure, law enforcement and many others.With one of the largest listed defence company market capitalisations in Australia and having raised approximately $250m in 2024 alone, DroneShield is undergoing hypergrowth stage, fuelled by rapidly increasing use of drones for nefarious applications, from battlefield, to terrorism, to contraband delivery and commercial espionage.This role is in the DroneShield Sydney headquarters in Sydney CBD.
There are approximately 320 staff based in the 4,000sqm facility today, scheduled to grow to approximately 400 staff by end of 2025.
Overseas on the ground presence includes USA, Denmark, Mexico, and UAE, as well as distributors in over 70 countries globally.About the roleThe Corporate Governance and Policy Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the organisation operates with integrity, transparency, and strategic alignment.
This position leads the design and execution of governance frameworks and policy initiatives that underpin regulatory compliance, ethical conduct, and effective decision-making across the enterprise.Responsibilities, Duties and ExpectationsLead the development, review, and implementation of governance and organisational policies aligned with best practice and regulatory standardsEnsure the maintenance of a centralised policy library and document control system to ensure accessibility, version control, and complianceOrganise and run cross-functional policy working groups and facilitate collaborative policy developmentMonitor and interpret emerging legislative, regulatory, and compliance requirements, advising on organisational impactEnsure adherence to legal obligations, corporate governance principles, and external accountability frameworksProvide strategic governance advice to the General Counsel and CFO (Joint Company Secretaries)Oversee and maintain key governance registers including delegations, gifts, interests, and authorisationsDrive continuous improvement initiatives to uplift governance maturity and operational effectivenessQualifications, Experience and SkillsTertiary qualifications in Law, Business, Public Policy, or a related disciplineDemonstrated expertise in governance, compliance, and policy development within regulated environments and ASX 200 companiesStrong understanding of corporate governance frameworks, including ASX Listing Rules and relevant legislationExceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skillsProven ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory requirements and translate them into practical policy solutionsNote for recruitment agencies: We do not accept unsolicited candidates from external recruiters unless specifically instructed.
