Australia Sun Engineering Full time

Sun Engineering has a position available with our growing Commercial and Risk Management department for either an experienced paralegal, optimally, or otherwise an experienced commercial administrative assistant.

The salary will reflect the exact nature of the position offered and will of course reflect the experience and capability the respective individual can bring to the company.

The position is based at our Carole Park Head Office, however some flexibility regarding working days, hours and work location may be able to be provided to this specific role by discussion and agreement.

The position will commence immediately - we can't wait for you to join our team

**The successful applicant will be able to perform most, if not all, of the following duties**:

- Research and analyse statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provide concise and comprehensive written analysis to the lawyers and the commercial team.
- Interview witnesses and prepares summaries of their statements.
- Prepare, organize, store, and retrieve files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items.
- Assist the legal and commercial with adjudication and trial preparation as and when required, which may include attendance at hearings.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (grammar, precision).
- Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, and other related matters.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
- Advance user of Word format, particularly with style and format.
- Advance user of Adobe.
- Proficient with the use of Microsoft Outlook, and Excel.

**Applicants most likely to be successful may have the following education and experience**:

- Bachelor or associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field.
- 8+ year paralegal or related legal experience.
- Gathering and analysing statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, documents, and other data

**What we are offering**:

- Salary range on offer is between $65,000 to $95,000 + Super (depends on applicant)
- Some flexibility to working arrangements can be made by agreement
