As our client's sole payroller, you'll take ownership of end-to-end payroll for 275 staff—trusted, valued, and empowered to make a difference.
Our client, a specialist service organisation, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join their HR team.
This is a stand-alone Payroll Advisor, responsible for end-to-end functions for 275 staff.
While the role is stand-alone, you will have support and coverage from the broader members of the HR function.
Responsibilities
Process multiple payroll cycles across fortnightly and monthly frequencies using ADP system
Provide customer-focused support and guidance to employees on payroll-related inquiries
Partner with HR to offer practical advice and assistance on payroll compliance, award interpretation, and onboarding
Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies with a solutions-oriented approach
Ensure accuracy in payroll transactions, reporting, and statutory obligations
Qualifications
Cert IV or Diploma in Payroll, HR or Business Administration - not mandatory
Required Skills
Demonstrated ability to manage complex payroll processes independently and efficiently
Strong customer service ethos with a responsive and empathetic communication style
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to provide feedback on detailed payroll and superannuation enquiries
Familiarity with ADP systems (preferred)
Understanding of payroll legislation
Proven planning and prioritisation skills
Willingness to learn and support broader HR initiatives, including systems, reporting and compliance
Keen attention to detail and a proactive mindset to drive continuous improvement
Part-time consideration: 4 days a week if operationally appropriate
