**The Role**:
This role provides compliance-based advice and assistance to the business in key areas such as customer service (sales, service, claims and disputes), product design and delivery, partnerships and learning and development. You will help the business understand and meet its regulatory obligations as prescribed by its Australian financial services licence and the General Insurance Code of Practice by supporting the business at all levels.

You will also be involved in our 2nd line assurance monitoring of the Group's activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Finally, you will also assist the Regulatory function in supporting the Auto & General business on regulatory change projects and ensure operating frameworks effectively support new regulatory and legislative change. You will also monitor and advise on the emerging regulatory landscape for new developments affecting the insurance industry.

**Accountabilities**:

- Provide quality and timely regulatory and compliance advice to internal stakeholders;
- Continuously review and improve the Compliance Framework, including supporting documentation and associated training/eLearning material to ensure it remains fit for purpose and in line with existing and new regulatory requirements;
- Assisting in 2nd line assurance monitoring.
- Seeks ways to exceed stakeholders' expectations and display flexibility in meeting needs through consideration of a range of alternative compliant solutions;
- Identify and make recommendations to relevant areas regarding any opportunities identified for system, process, product, sales, or service improvements during the course of providing compliance advice;
- Identify potential areas of regulatory and legislative change affecting the Auto & General insurance business;
- Attendance at industry meetings and contribution to industry submissions, including the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA); and
- To role model the A&G values in all dealings with all internal and external stakeholders including team members

- Analytical skills - ability to operate in a complex dynamic environment and make decisions and recommend courses of action using data and knowledge of both legislative requirements and business practices;

- Ability to read and interpret regulatory and legislative changes and to effectively communicate these to internal stakeholders.

**Knowledge and Qualifications**:

- Working knowledge of relevant compliance standards, legislative requirements (including financial services) and industry codes;
- Working knowledge of General Insurance in Australia desirable.
- Minimum two years' experience in a compliance, risk, assurance, legal or audit role for a financial services firm;
- Experience in a general insurance role highly regarded;
- Experience with risk management/compliance obligations systems.
- Compliance Legal, Risk and/or Audit qualifications highly regarded.
