As a fourth-generation family business, **Darwalla** started producing chickens over 75 years in Mt Cotton, with farms now located in the Redlands, on the Darling Downs and in the Lockyer Valley.

This exciting full-time opportunity will be located at our livestock office in Allora situated between Toowoomba and and Warwick. Reporting to the Quality, Safety and Environment Manager, this role presents an opportunity for an experienced and driven Compliance Officer to grow within a dynamic and developing company with a nationally recognized Training Award and State based Safety Awards.

**About the role**
This role will be to monitor the compliance requirements to meet the needs of the Company's Quality, Safety, Environmental and other legal requirements.

You will facilitate the implementation of compliance frameworks; support staff in meeting their compliance obligations through training and support; conduct audits and inspections; and contribute to continuous improvement through reviewing existing systems and processes. You will also have the ability to draft complex legal compliance reports, correspondence and procedures.

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience working in a similar role and have a solid understanding of the relevant statutory compliance obligations. You will enjoy making a contribution as part of a small professional team, demonstrate initiative, as well as a high degree of professionalism in your work. You will also have strong attention to detail, well-developed communication skills and an ability to work well with both internal and external stakeholders.

**Experience**
- Extensive experience in the implementation and/or maintenance of business management systems, policies and procedures
- Proven experience in auditing and reviewing business process flows and providing advice and recommendations to the business to support productivity improvements and the achievement of business plan initiatives.
- Experience and knowledge of risk assessment and investigation processes
- Extensive experience in Quality and Safety systems
- Document Control experience
- Strong understanding and advising on compliance frameworks
- Possess exceptional conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve issues and implement effective solutions.
- Experience in Environmental Management would be highly regarded
- Experience and knowledge of continuous improvement systems and processes preferred

The poultry industry has very strict bio-security and animal welfare standards, so all employees are restricted from keeping pet birds, poultry and pigs.
