**Join the team**
We have an exciting new opportunity for a **Fabric Manager** to join the Kmart team that will be reporting directly to the Head of Technical and Raw Materials.
Some of the key primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Working with trend forecast manager for the fabric development strategy at the start of every season.
- Working with designers and buyers closely for fabric development and sourcing.
- Working with KAS fabric team for implementing Kmart Fabric Strategy.
- Working with Kmart sustainability team for implementing all fabric related sustainability commitment in Kmart, such sustainable material, Higg & ZDHC etc.
- Manage the fabric library in Kmart head office.
- Providing technical support on fabric to the apparel divisions and support the management of the overall technical fabric standards, of apparel products sold within Kmart.
- Support the development and implementation of the Kmart fabric strategy. Included is the involvement in establishing technical fabric standards, and the development, implementation, and administration of supplier standards.
**What you'll be doing**
We're looking for a driven, efficient and enthusiastic individual who will bring a curious mind-set and a passion for all things fabric development You love delivering product, customers are always front of mind and building and managing relationships with a variety of key stakeholders is one of your strengths.
We'd also love you to have:
- 15 Years+ experience in the field of têxtile and 5 years+ experience in a managerial role
- Extensive hands-on experience in fabric development, manufacturing processes, supplier management and quality control
- Fabric development + sourcing and fabric approval experience within a retailer or sourcing office
- Experience with developing and implementing fabric improvement processes.
- Proven individual leadership qualities in a diverse, multilingual and multicultural environment.
- Working experience in fabric mill is preferred.
- High degree of technical acuity in regard to fabric sourcing, make and fabric quality standards, and understanding effective methods for addressing such concerns at a large scale production level.
- Extensive experience of working with large scale fabric manufacturers, and the technical production methodologies related to production fabric development.
- Experience of implementing and delivering fabric sustainability strategies in a large-scale retail environment.
- Good understanding of the architecture of fabric price in the industry and relating it to Kmart business.
- Good skill of team building, training and managing expectation.
- Outstanding communication skills - written & oral.
- High Level of understanding of relevant legislative requirements.
