Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced **Population Health Analyst** to join **NEPHU.**

The North Eastern Public Health Unit (NEPHU) is one of nine public health units in Victoria: three in metropolitan Melbourne and six covering regional Victoria. Together these units form a coordinated network, working in partnership with the Department of Health to deliver a comprehensive public health program for Victoria. The NEPHU is led and coordinated by Austin Health and works in partnership with Northern Health and Eastern Health in a networked operational structure with responsibility spanning approximately 1.85m people living in the northeast of metropolitan Melbourne. The NEPHU is proud of its diverse multidisciplinary team who reflect the community we serve.

As a member of the North Eastern Public Health Unit (NEPHU) Intelligence, Systems and Digital Innovation function, the Population Health Analyst will play a vital role in data collation, analysis and presentation to support evidence-based decision making on public health matters in the NEPHU region. The Population Health Analyst works closely with NEPHU Epidemiologists and will focus on enabling the NEPHU and our partners to have enduring, accurate and comprehensive data and understanding about our population, their demographics, the burden of disease and contributing factors to disease in the NEPHU population.

**To be successful in this role you must have**:

- A commitment to Austin Health values
- Tertiary qualifications in public health, population health, epidemiology, health sciences or equivalent
- Previous experience in health-related data management applied to population needs assessment and strategic population health planning
- Demonstrated analytical and evaluation skills including experience using STATA and/ or R, and PowerBI, to undertake statistical analysis using multiple data sources
- Knowledge of the principles underpinning the population health approach
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to prepare technical, descriptive and analytical population health-related data, interpret data into meaningful information and written reports within specified timeframes.
- Ability to create concise and meaningful data summaries and analyses and contribute to presentations and publications
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, establishing and maintaining collaborative professional relationships
- Strong time management, organisation, prioritisation and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
