**Position Information**:
Strathfield South Public School has a current enrolment of 520 students and is culturally and linguistically diverse with 90% of students from a language background other than English. The main languages spoken, other than English, include Arabic and Mandarin. The school is in the Inner Western Suburbs of Sydney and has a Family, Occupational and Education Index (FOEI) of 38. Teachers focus on explicit teaching through a culture of high expectations and inclusion. There is an unrelenting focus on continuous improvement in literacy and numeracy through targeted professional learning, shared practice and data analysis.
A large staff of 60, is ably led by a committed and energetic executive who embrace opportunities to innovate and collaborate. The staff at Strathfield South Public School are highly professional, collaborative and focused on excellence and equity. The school is recognised for a focus on the wellbeing of every student through providing a safe, welcoming environment that promotes a sense of belonging and self-worth.
All students attend Chinese or Korean language classes and participate in a variety of critical thinking and creative programs including orchestra, string and recorder ensembles, dance, choir, public-speaking, drama, physical education and sports.

1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
