**Position Information**:
Woy Woy Public School is a P-6 school and has an enrolment of 416 students, including approx 20% of students who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, 13% of students with a diagnosed disability or disabilities, 8% of students who speak English as an additional language or dialect and 10% of students attending at preschool age. The school is situated on the Brisbane Water inlet on the Central Coast of NSW and has strong alliances with the Brisbane Water Learning Community of schools.

The school is a proud member of the Koorana Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) and the Southern Central Coast Primary Schools Sport Association (PSSA). Woy Woy Public School has small but vibrant P&C. The school has six support classes, including one class of students with moderate or severe intellectual disabilities (IO/IS), two classes for students who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, two classes for students who have been diagnosed as having experienced emotional disturbance (ED), and an Early Intervention teacher who works with children who require support in the year before they start Kindergarten.

Woy Woy Public School has its own Department of Education preschool, the Guliyali Preschool, within its grounds, offering a five-day fortnight program. The school also has a 'Schools as Community Centre' onsite which supports families with children from 0 - 8 years. There are 14 mainstream classes for students from Kindergarten through to Year 6. The school has six Assistant principals, including an APC&I, and a large staff of teachers, School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs), and other school administration and support staff. In line with the school's vision statement ("Empowering all learners to achieve"), there is a strong emphasis on the explicit teaching of literacy and numeracy skills to support the Department of Education's Curriculum Reform initiative.

1. Proven capacity to build upon and extend partnerships with parents/carers and the wider educational community, valuing our Aboriginal community and AECG partnerships enabling all students, staff

2. Highly visible and strategic leader with the ability to implement and evaluate the school Strategic Improvement Plan, in an evidence-informed manner, with a focus on engaging students, staff, and community.

3. Demonstrated capacity to lead the implementation of curriculum through the development of evidence-based learning and teaching practices with a focus on building staff capacity and utilising existing expertise to improve student outcomes.

4. Highly developed equity-oriented leadership that extends and challenges all students and is reflective of a culture of inclusivity and personalisation required in a complex setting.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
