**Position Information**:
Walters Road Public School is a committed learning community in the Bungarribee network, located in Blacktown Local Government Area, situated on Darug land. The school is an active member of the Nurringingy AECG. Approximately 61% students identify as having a language background other than English, with the main languages spoken being Arabic, Hindi, Dari, Punjabi, Gajarati and Tagalog. With a current enrolment of approximately 550 students, Walters Road Public School embraces the cultural and language backgrounds of all students and fosters an environment where students feel accepted and valued by their peers and staff.

Our school currently consists of 22 mainstream classes. Dedicated staff emphasise academic skills and hold high expectations for all students. The school has a strong focus on evidence-based approaches to teaching literacy and numeracy, systematic and reliable assessment approaches that will ascertain observable changes in teaching as well as wellbeing practices which are grounded in evidence-based change that will result in measurable improvements in wellbeing, engagement and positive, respectful relationships.

We are currently part of the Colebee Learning Community, where we have strong partnerships with Evans High, Doonside PS, Crawford PS, Marayong South PS and Doonside High. This learning community focuses on preparing our students across all curriculum areas and learning stages with skills and capabilities to thrive in a rapidly changing and interconnected world. Students collaborate and use critical and creative thinking to solve problems, growing as active and informed global citizens.

- Demonstrated strong and collaborative leadership, catering for a diverse context, reflective of a strong commitment to enhancing culturally safe partnerships with parents/carers and the community.
- Evidence of a compassionate staff and student focused approach, demonstrating effective evidence-based practices in wellbeing.
- Highly effective educational leadership skills with a proven ability to model instructional leadership and continuous improvement, using the Strategic Improvement Plan as the key driver to effect change and innovation.
- Demonstrated excellence in developing and empowering self and others for quality teaching coupled with a deep understanding of Department priorities and procedures.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
