About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for an Aviation Technical Trainer to join our Aircraft, Training and Sustainment business on the Hawk Lead-in Fighter (LIF) aircraft program. You will be part of an inclusive and supportive team based in Williamtown (Newcastle), New South Wales and will be employed on a permanent full time basis. We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia.
The Hawk Lead-In Fighter is the world's most successful advanced military jet trainer aircraft built on more than 35 years of fast jet training experience. More than 1,000 aircrafts have operated across 18 countries, preparing more than 20,000 pilots for life in a fast-jet cockpit. In 2022, BAE Systems Australia welcomed a $1.5 billion Hawk Lead-In Fighter contract extension that will continue to train Australia's frontline fighter pilots through to 2031.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Deliver technical training, including workplace inductions and new starter on-boarding, utilising contemporary learning and assessment strategies, while adapting to different learning styles
- Contribute to the learning and development activities to support the business in developing a technical workforce that meets current and future business objectives
- Plan and conduct technical assessments, including the verification of competencies
- Contribute to the design and development of training and assessment content to meet regulatory and business requirements, within the respective trade and/or their own competence
- Monitor and provide feedback on learner progress and performance in line with business requirements and training frameworks
- Prepare training materials and undertake technical writing activities
- Provide information and advice on training and assessment services
About YOU
- Aviation technical experience and experience/knowledge in delivering technical training or learning and development
- A Certificate 4 in Aeroskills or equivalent and a Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) qualification, or the willingness to gain training qualification within 6 months of commencing in the role
- Experience with training and learning management systems and the ability to adapt your delivery style to suit the learner's needs
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and support technical workforce learners and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders
- A continuous improvement mind-set, well-developed self-management skills and a demonstrated ability to work under your own initiative
