Aviation Director Job Description

As a key member of our team, the Aviation Director will lead and manage a range of aviation projects across ANZ. The role involves driving technical excellence across our ANZ Aviation portfolio, developing business growth opportunities with clients and construction partners, and participating in the development and execution of our ANZ Aviation business strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage teams to deliver airfield projects for international and regional commercial airport clients, and for the Australian and New Zealand Defence Forces' portfolio of airfields.
  • Drive technical excellence across our ANZ Aviation portfolio, ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Develop business growth opportunities with AECOM's clients and construction partners, identifying new markets and revenue streams.
  • Participate in the development and execution of our ANZ Aviation business strategy, working closely with senior leaders to achieve business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver complex aviation projects, leveraging expertise and resources to drive success.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 15+ years' experience in airside infrastructure engineering design, aviation pavement design, pavement condition assessment, and evaluation.
  • Experience in interpreting, organising, executing, and coordinating the capture and delivery of major aviation projects, ideally across both civil and Defence sectors.
  • Project delivery and leadership experience, with a track record of delivering high-profile aviation projects on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrated client relationship management skills, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of standards and guidelines from CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority), FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), IATA (International Air Transport Association), and ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization).
