**The YMCA Vocational School **is a multi-campus educational community based in Logan, North Lakes, Redlands, Ipswich and Acacia Ridge. The School is a Special Assistance School offering alternative schooling programs to assist disengaged students in having the opportunity to reach their full potential through positive educational studies, activities and outcomes.

We are now recruiting for a **Teacher in Charge **to join our dedicated and supportive multi-disciplinary team on a **permanent full-time basis **at the **YMCA Vocational School **Moreton Bay: Mango Hill Senior Campus.**
**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The role of **Teacher in Charge** will be responsible for supporting the Head of School and Head of Campus in their school leadership, in order to achieve educational, wellbeing and vocational targets/objectives. This position is also a leadership development position which means the teacher-in-charge is able to effectively:

- Instructional leadership of teacher professional development: Observations, planning PD, Delivering PD
- Run briefs, debriefs, parades, staff training, manage staff and volunteers, sign risk assessments;
- Host new student induction/orientation process;
- Oversee student engagement and case management processes;
- Take charge of targeted school programs/projects as agreed to by the Head of School/Campus and Deputy Principal.

Additional responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

- Develop and deliver in coordination with the Deputy Principal, Head of Campus/School and other teacher-in-charge at the school professional development for all teachers
- Collaborate constructively and positively with all school staff, across both campuses, in the development and evaluation of curriculum
- Participate in the process led by the Head of School to develop your Professional Development plan. This plan is required to be updated each 12 months
- Work with all staff to provide the highest possible standard of customer service to the wider community

- Current **Registered Teaching Qualifications** and **relevant experience**:

- Knowledge of and the ability to implement effective and inclusive teaching and learning processes, including the use of learning technology and assessment, to establish an appropriate learning environment in which students are encouraged to work toward their potential
