We have been on this journey since 1952, and now, we want you to join us.Position: Handyperson (Part Time)We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our Rooms Division team as a handyperson, playing a vital role in ensuring our guests and colleagues enjoy a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environment.
Your contribution will uphold the IHG Way of Preventative Maintenance program, helping ensure the hotel asset is effectively maintained.Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:As a Handyperson, you'll play a key role in ensuring the hotel runs smoothly behind the scenes.
Your focus will always be on creating a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for guests and colleagues alike.Reactive Maintenance: Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance issues in guest rooms and public areas, such as replacing a broken light bulb or fixing a leaking pipe.Preventative Maintenance: Carry out regular proactive maintenance tasks in guest rooms and public areas as part of the IHG Way of Preventative Maintenance, to identify and resolve issues before they escalate.Documentation & Administration: Use our digital maintenance system (Quore) to log work orders, track progress, and document completed tasks.
Manage par levels to request supplies as needed.Assist with Basic Repairs: Repair hotel fixtures, fittings, furniture, and equipment, including patching, painting, pressure washing, cleaning HVAC vents, and troubleshooting problems.Support Safety and Security: Follow safety procedures to maintain a secure environment, ensuring all work aligns with health and safety standards.Clean & Tidy: Keep workspaces and maintenance areas clean and organized.Support the Maintenance Manager with other tasks, contributing to a positive team environment.The ideal candidate will:Have a hands-on attitude and a strong willingness to learn.Be a team player with excellent communication skills.Have high attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.Demonstrate a commitment to workplace health and safety.Be able to manually handle up to 15kg comfortably.Reflect our True Hospitality Values: True Attitude, True Confidence, True Listening, True Responsiveness.Hotel experience is preferred but not essential.Have unrestricted working rights in Australia and be available to work a 6-day roster (Monday-Saturday).
