About the role

We are seeking a driven and experienced HSE Officer to join our team at Civil Group (Aust) Pty Ltd to work on a 2:1 roster in rural NSW. As a HSE Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, environmental and quality compliance of our civil construction projects. This is a crucial role that will directly contribute to the successful and safe delivery of our work.

What you'll be doing

  • Conducting safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate risks
  • Developing and implementing safety policies, procedures and training programs
  • Investigating incidents and near misses, and implementing corrective actions
  • Monitoring and reporting on health, safety and environmental performance
  • Liaising with site teams, subcontractors and regulatory authorities
  • Promoting a positive safety culture and championing best practice

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as an HSE Officer in the construction industry
  • Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety, Environmental Science or a related field
  • Construction White Card
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Thorough understanding of relevant health, safety and environmental legislation and regulations
  • Strong risk management and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
