About Us
Novita provides early intervention, rehabilitation, therapy, assistive technology and disability services to more than 6,000 people living with disability, as well as support for their families and carers. Our primary purpose is to enable kids, young people and adults living with disability and their families to participate in the community to their full potential.
About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker based at Murray Bridge, you'll play a vital role in the planning and provision of a responsive client and family-centred service, providing In-Home supports.
This is apart-time position, working 33 hours per fortnight. The role follows a specific roster designed to meet the needs of one of our valued clients, with shifts scheduled during weekday mornings and afternoons (Monday to Friday only). Full roster details will be discussed during the interview process.
As a Disability Support Worker at Novita, you'll use your knowledge and experience supporting people with physical and intellectual disabilities to promote independence, community participation, and meaningful relationships in a safe and supportive environment.
For decades Novita has been helping South Australians living with disability achieve their goals. In this role, you'll support our client by interpreting and responding to their communication needs, health care plan, and mealtime guidelines, administering medication, and documenting observations. Your contribution will be vital in helping our client reach their full potential and independence goals—perfect for someone who finds joy in seeing others grow and thrive.
About You
As a team player with flexibility, you'll be someone who enjoys communicating with a variety of people, you will utilise your initiative and self-motivation whilst demonstrating your client-centred approach to service delivery.
What you will bring:
- A strong commitment to client wellbeing and person-centred care
- Ability to interpret and act on individual health care plans, communication needs, and mealtime guidelines
- Confidence in identifying and responding to health concerns, and accurately documenting observations
- Competence in administering prescribed medication and maintaining accurate records
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with clients, families, and colleagues
- High attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
- A positive attitude and enthusiasm for promoting Novita's mission in the community
- A commitment to safe work practices and WHS standards
What You'll Need before starting:
- Current NDIS Worker Check and Working with Children Check (must be completed before starting)
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or Community Services (or willingness to complete/enrol)
- Child Safe Environments training (Through Your Eyes)
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module: Quality, Safety and You
- Competency-based training in Assist Clients with Medication (HLTHPS006 or equivalent obtained within the last 6 months)
- Competency-based Manual Handling training (HLTWHS005 or equivalent obtained within the last 6 months)
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate (including CPR)
- A current valid Drivers Licence
If you are willing to make a career in Disability Sector and ready to undertake Cert III or IV, with no experience, we'd love to see your application.
All Novita employees are required to undertake mandatory training relevant to their role. Support Workers are paid in accordance with the Social, Community Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS).
Remuneration Package and Benefits
Total remuneration package includes base salary, annual leave loading and statutory superannuation contribution. Enjoy salary packaging up to $15,900 of your salary, increasing your take-home pay by approximately $5,000. Further salary-packaging benefits available include meal and entertainment expenses, accommodation and venue hire, private novated leasing and additional superannuation contributions.
