Do you have what it takes to become a Smart Legal Counsel

As a Legal Counsel at Smartgroup, you will play a crucial role in providing legal advice and support across various areas of the business. You will be responsible for reviewing and negotiating contracts, assisting with legal queries and contributing to our sustainability efforts.

To be successful at Smart you will have:

• Strong communication and analytical problem-solving skills
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
• A systematic and solutions-focused approach to legal challenges
• A broad range of experience gained in private practice law firms or in-house legal teams
• A solid legal foundation with exposure to general legal and compliance matters
• A Bachelor of Laws degree from an Australian university
• The capability to provide accurate and effective legal advice in collaboration with the Senior Legal Counsel
• A strong understanding of regulatory and licensing compliance requirements
• Experience contributing to process improvement and project management within a Legal function
• A customer-focused mindset, strategic thinking, adaptability, teamwork, leadership, and a commitment to delivering results
