Opportunity to Shape the Future of Construction: Contract Administrator Role

Are you a commercial powerhouse ready to step into a pivotal role that truly drives project success?

My client, an innovative leader in the modern construction and modular building industry, is searching for an exceptional Contracts Administrator to join their dynamic team. This is more than just administration—it's a chance to be the central commercial linchpin, safeguarding interests and maximising returns on ground-breaking projects.

If you thrive on proactively managing risk, leading complex subcontractor engagement, and being the go-to expert for contractual clarity, this is your next career-defining move.

The Role:

This is a Full-time, Permanent Opportunity reporting to the Project Manager and Construction Manager. The role is split between our client's facilities in Helensvale and Archerfield (QLD).

Why This Opportunity Is Unmissable

  • Commercial Centrality: You will be the crucial link between the company, its suppliers, subcontractors, and clients, ensuring all commercial interests are protected and advanced throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Proactive Risk Management: You won't just react to issues; you'll be instrumental in identifying potential contractual risks early and implementing control measures before they impact delivery or financial outcomes.
  • Lead the Commercial Process: Own the subcontractor engagement process from start to finish—coordinating tenders, critically reviewing submissions, and delivering data-driven recommendations that guide selection.
  • Drive Financial Success: Your meticulous work on progress claims, variation claims, and cash flow forecasting will directly influence the maximisation of project financial returns.

Key Responsibilities – What You Will Master

  • Project Establishment: Supporting the foundational contractual and financial setup for new projects and contributing to scope development.
  • Contract Administration: Expertly managing head contract and subcontract correspondence, procurement, ordering processes, and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships to ensure obligations are met.
  • Financial Guardianship: Preparing and submitting accurate progress and variation claims, ensuring timely and accurate processing of subcontractor claims, and assisting with project forecasts and cash flow statements.
  • Commercial Strategy: Collaborating with design and management teams to determine the most cost-effective procurement strategies and translating complex contract documents into clear, actionable financial risk controls.

Are You the Ideal Candidate?

My client is seeking a commercially astute professional with a proven track record in the construction, manufacturing, or modular building sectors.

Essential Toolkit

  • Qualification: Relevant tertiary qualification (Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Contract Administration, etc.).
  • Experience: Proven experience in a Contracts Administrator or similar commercial role.
  • Tendering & Procurement Mastery: Deep experience in managing subcontractor tendering, procurement, and contract administration processes.
  • Claims Expertise: Demonstrated ability to accurately prepare, review, and process all types of contractual claims (Progress, Variations).
  • Tech Proficiency: Experienced with project/contract administration systems (e.g., Procore, Aconex, or similar).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent written/verbal communication, high attention to detail, and a proactive approach to negotiation and problem-solving.

Highly Advantageous: Experience in modular building or prefabrication project delivery, practical knowledge of Jobpac, and a background or familiarity with robotics or automated manufacturing processes will be highly regarded.

This is a fantastic opportunity to align your career with a forward-thinking client who values commercial excellence and innovation. If you are ready to apply your expertise and become a core commercial driver for exciting projects, don't hesitate.
