Join City of Moreton Bay as a Senior Property Portfolio Officer and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.

As our Senior Property Portfolio Officer, you will provide technical advice, investigate highest and best use, negotiate, coordinate and facilitate property related agreements including leases, licences and contracts across Council owned commercial facilities. These include retail, industrial, commercial, residential, telecommunication, tourist/caravan parks, advertising, and specialist facilities. Your work will ensure compliance with legislative requirements while delivering quality outcomes and increase revenue across a diverse property asset portfolio.

What you'll do

  • Source, negotiate and advise on commercial terms for new and existing property agreements.
  • Undertake site investigations relating to land tenure, planning and highest and best use.
  • Interpret legislation and ensure compliance across Council's property portfolio.
  • Coordinate inspections, manage contractors, and oversee compliance with lease and licence conditions.
  • Contribute to strategies that improve commercial return and utilisation of Council's property assets.
  • Maintain accurate property and contract information in databases and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.

About you

We are seeking a property and contract management professional with sharp legislative insight and a knack for navigating complex agreements. You thrive in high-pressure environments, balancing strategic thinking with practical delivery. Your collaborative style and strong stakeholder engagement skills make you a trusted partner in driving real estate outcomes that align with policy and performance goals.

You will have:

  • Substantial experience in property-related agreements and/or contracts within a legislative environment.
  • Proven contract management expertise.
  • Highly refined customer service and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent financial management experience through monitoring budgets, contractual terms and identifying financial savings.
  • Proven ability in strategy development, analytical skills, sound contracting principles and risk identification.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to interpret legislation and contractual terms.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within deadlines.
