Scenic Artist (Full-Time, Fixed Term For 12 Months)

We're looking for a skilled and creative Scenic Artist to join Melbourne Theatre Company's Production team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced artist who thrives on collaboration, craftsmanship, and bringing bold theatrical designs to life on stage.

Working closely with the Scenic Art Supervisor, you'll play a hands-on role in creating and finishing scenic elements for our productions. From large-scale set pieces to intricate props and surface treatments. Your work will help transform creative concepts into stunning visual realities that captivate audiences.

You'll use your ingenuity and problem-solving skills to apply scenic treatments, painting, texturing, and other finishes across a range of materials. In collaboration with the wider Production team, you'll ensure each production's design vision is brought to life with precision and artistry.

This is a practical, team-oriented role that values craftsmanship, attention to detail, and adaptability. If you're passionate about theatre-making and have a strong background in scenic art, we'd love to hear from you.
