Business/Marketing Manager

The Business and Marketing Manager is responsible for driving the strategic growth and visibility of NJM Design through targeted marketing initiatives, business development, client relationship management, and brand positioning. This role supports company objectives by managing marketing communications, maintaining client databases, coordinating tenders and proposals, and leading initiatives to strengthen NJM Design's reputation within the building services and consultancy sector.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing and emerging markets.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, developers, architects, and industry partners.
• Support directors and project managers in preparing client presentations and capability statements.
• Track and analyse business performance metrics, including win/loss ratios, client retention, and growth areas.
• Develop and implement marketing strategies aligned with NJM Design's business plan and values.
• Manage all marketing collateral — brochures, capability statements, website content, newsletters, and case studies.
• Coordinate company social media presence (LinkedIn, website updates, etc.), ensuring consistent brand representation.
• Develop campaigns to promote NJM Design's service capabilities and project achievements.
• Manage photography, advertising, and branding initiatives across all platforms.
• Lead preparation of proposals, tenders, and Expression of Interest (EOI) submissions in collaboration with technical teams.
• Ensure tender responses align with company branding, tone, and value proposition.
• Maintain a database of project references, templates, and credentials for efficient reuse.
• Maintain CRM and project databases, tracking client communications and business leads.
• Support project managers with client feedback surveys and performance reporting.
• Coordinate client events, presentations, and industry networking functions.
• Assist in developing and monitoring the company's business development strategy.
• Provide regular reports to management on marketing activities, leads, and conversion outcomes.
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
• Work closely with Directors, Engineers, and Administration teams to ensure business goals are aligned.
• Support HR and operations in promoting internal branding, culture, and staff engagement initiatives.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
• Understanding of the construction, design, or engineering consulting industry.
• Strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
