Water Industry Solutions (WIS) is a successful and respected Tasmanian owned civil construction business, with 17 years' experience specialising in constructing water sector infrastructure.
About the Role & About You
Reporting to the Director and as a key member of the leadership team, the Manager Safety & Culture is pivotal in driving strategic initiatives to foster positive change and shape a high performing, inclusive, collaborative and safe culture to drive performance across the business.
This role
- identifies gaps, develops, implements and manages frameworks for risk and safety, wellbeing, engagement and people management
- monitors and maintains the systems that ensure quality, safety and environmental compliance for ISO certification, legislation and to meet our key client requirements
What would we like to see?
- Solid experience in culture development and experienced end-to-end HR management, preferably in construction industry.
- You balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership providing support across the business that enables continuous improvement in systems, strategies and capability.
- You take the lead on safety, and collaborate with stakeholders to embed a safety-first culture
- You troubleshoot problems and find practical solutions
- You are trusted and respected, demonstrating integrity and a high work ethic
- The ability to make your own decisions and take accountability to fix the issue
- Genuinely supports development of people
- A strong flexible work approach where being responsive is second nature
- A formal qualification – relevant degree or AIHR certification
- Full working rights in Australia with a valid Australian driver's licence
You demonstrate these attributes:
- excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- strong understanding of Australian employment laws and regulations, and proven experience in employee relations and performance management
- effectiveness in building a safety culture
- excellent decision making, analytical, problem solving and organisation skills
- excellent attention to detail
- strong computer literacy skills including MS suite
