About the Role

Longton Blackwell is seeking a motivated solicitor with around 2 years' post-admission experience to join our growing Property Group in Sydney.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong conveyancing experience who is looking to broaden their expertise across commercial transactions and disputes. You will work closely with senior lawyers, manage files end-to-end, and build strong client relationships.

What You'll Be Doing

Property & Conveyancing

  • Manage residential and commercial conveyancing matters from start to finish
  • Draft and negotiate contracts, leases, licences, and property documents
  • Assist on large-scale residential developments
  • Handle off-the-plan, strata/Torrens title, and development matters
  • Liaise with clients, agents, lenders, and other stakeholders

Commercial & Lending

  • Draft, review and revise commercial agreements, and lending documentation
  • Liaise with banks, brokers and clients for settlements and document execution
  • Act for lenders and borrowers in preparing and reviewing loan and mortgage documents

Disputes (Occasional)

  • Support dispute matters under supervision (e.g. lease breaches, default notices, recovery actions)
  • Liaise with the dispute resolution team for escalations

General

  • Deliver timely, practical advice with a client-focused approach
  • Contribute to team collaboration, compliance, and client development

What We're Looking For

  • Admitted solicitor in NSW with 2 years' PAE in private practice
  • Strong conveyancing skills and experience running matters independently
  • Exposure to commercial contracts and/or lending preferred
  • Interest or experience in disputes is advantageous
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Commercial mindset and willingness to learn across practice areas
  • Proficiency in LEAP legal software, e-conveyancing platforms (e.g. PEXA) and file management systems
