BAKER of THINGS is a new bakery producing delicious cakes and sourdough bread in Richmond. We are modern bakers creating consistently high-quality products. As the Venue Manager, you'll be expected to complete the following tasks regularly:

  • Maintain daily and weekly procedures and update them accordingly in the black book.

  • Follow, delegate, and manage all procedures (cleaning, opening, closing, general) to ensure they are completed to a high standard. This includes efficiency in dish preparation, customer service sequences, and overall presentation.

  • Foster staff motivation by creating a family-like community at BAKER of THINGS.

  • Train staff to be high-energy, friendly, honest, and informative in an approachable manner toward customers, setting the example as a leader.

  • Develop team members to fulfil a higher level of responsibility, using the set-out development pathway.

  • Conduct trials and hire new staff as needed, implementing the 'New Employee Procedure'. This process is worked on closely with the Operations Manager.

  • Continuously enhance coffee and baking knowledge.

  • Provide actionable solutions to any problems and communicate these actions to relevant staff and higher management.

  • Maintain a clear reporting path for staff and problem reporting using the monthly staff check-in procedure.

  • Manage staff scheduling, costs associated with this, including finding replacements when employees are sick or unable to work.
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to minimise food wastage, while proactively seeking innovation by identifying opportunities (procedures, products, strategies) to promote the BAKER of THINGS brand and its ethos.
