Our Story

The Alby is located on the ground floor of the Albemarle building, Woden. The gastropub comprises of dining areas, multiple bars, Chef's table for private dining, beer garden, games basement with bar and food offering, Duckpin bowling, pinball and pool tables. The venue provides a range of menus from breakfast, all-day dining, takeaway, functions, set lunch/dinners for groups and cocktail parties. Designed by Capezio Copeland and developed by DOMA.

About the Role:

Doma Hotels has a strong focus on making a big impact on our guest experience. We are looking for a range of Chef positions to join our team and have the opportunity to work in a fun and lively environment. Some of the things you will be responsible for includes:

  • Assisting in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to the Chef's instructions and recipes
  • Ensuring that ingredients are properly stored and handled to maintain freshness and safety and that all food and safety regulations and standards are adhered to
  • Maintaining a clean and organised workstation, adhering to hygiene and sanitation standards
  • Assisting with inventory management, including stock rotation and basic ordering
  • Delivering a consistently high level of product quality and presentation

What you will Bring:

  • Flexibility in your roster availability, to work varied hours as required, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
  • A positive, genuine and team-focused attitude with ability to work independently
  • Great attention to detail
  • A drive for career progression
  • 1 year experience working in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Demonstrating appropriate level cooking techniques and procedures
  • A high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department grooming standards
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
