Engineer for a key job in Adelaide, South Australia. This is more than just an employment opportunity; it's a chance to step into a senior technical leadership role where your expertise will be pivotal to the success of complex civil and infrastructure projects.

This role is for a hands-on technical expert who can provide crucial guidance and support to our construction teams. You'll be based in the Dry Creek office but will also get to work on-site, managing projects across both Adelaide metro and regional South Australia. If you're a driven professional ready to take on challenging projects that contribute to the state's vital infrastructure, this is the role for you.

The Opportunity

As the
Project Engineer, you will report directly to the Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager and serve as the primary technical point of contact for the entire project team. Your responsibilities will span from technical leadership to financial oversight, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. You'll be the go-to person for all technical queries and will step in to lead the project in the absence of the Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership & Support:
    Provide expert guidance to engineering and site teams.
  • Project & Financial Oversight:
    Assist with managing project budgets, programs, and progress claims.
  • Procurement & Contracts:
    Support all procurement activities and the preparation of subcontract agreements.
  • Risk & Quality Management:
    Lead the site engineering team in promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    Interpret project plans to create essential technical documents and reports.

What You Will Bring

To be the successful candidate for this job, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5-8 years of engineering experience in major construction/infrastructure project delivery, preferably in the Civil Engineering space.
  • A recognised degree in an engineering discipline or a relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Proven experience in contract administration and managing complex variations.
  • The ability to manage procurement, scheduling, and project costs.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., InEight, Aconex, Procore).
  • Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
