We're seeking an experienced
Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP)
to play a key role in aligning people strategies with business objectives, partnering closely with leaders to drive organisational performance, engagement, and growth.

About the Role

As a trusted advisor and strategic partner, the
Senior HR Business Partner
will support senior leaders across designated business areas, providing expert guidance on all aspects of people and culture. You will design and implement effective HR solutions that enable Cubic's success — from organisational design and change management to talent development, employee relations, and engagement.

You'll also collaborate with Cubic's global HR Centres of Excellence (COEs) in Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Talent Management, Employee Relations, and Compliance to ensure consistent, high-quality HR service delivery across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to develop and execute people strategies aligned with Cubic Defence's operational goals.
  • Build strong relationships across the business to gain deep insight into workforce needs, culture, and performance.
  • Provide expert advice on organisational design, workforce planning, and talent development.
  • Drive change management initiatives, ensuring effective communication and positive outcomes.
  • Support engagement and retention by analysing employee feedback and implementing improvement actions.
  • Guide leaders on performance management, career development, and succession planning.
  • Support employee relations issues, including investigations and compliance with legislation.
  • Partner with HR COEs to deliver integrated HR solutions and programs.
  • Support industrial relations matters where applicable, including adherence to collective agreements.
  • Travel to Cubic sites as required and participate in leadership and employee forums.

About You

You're a confident, collaborative, proactive and strategic HR professional with strong business acumen and a passion for enabling people and performance. You thrive in complex, fast-paced environments and bring the credibility to influence and coach leaders at all levels.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years' experience as an HR generalist or business partner.
  • Proven experience managing employee relations and organisational change.
  • Sound understanding of employment law, HR policies, and compliance.
  • Experience in professional, technical, or defence-related industries desirable.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Workday preferred.
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM, CIPD, or equivalent) highly regarded.
  • Experience in Defence is highly desirable.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
