Location: Melbourne Victoria

Position: Full time employment (open to flexibility if needed)

Join our National team of Church Partnerships Managers and build partnerships with Baptist churches in VIC and TAS.  You will develop strong relationships with Baptist Pastors and churches as well as key supporters.  You will work with our partnerships teams, as well as marketing and fundraising teams to implement strategies for church engagement nationally. You will create connections and relationships with a portfolio of churches and you will speak at church services and events, which means work on Sundays and travel regionally in VIC/TAS will be required.  You will raise awareness of the call to serve people in poverty and challenge injustice, connect in with the wider Baptist network particularly the Baptist Churches of VIC/TAS and thereby be an Ambassador for Baptist World Aid.

About you

You're already a pastor, either already accredited or on the accreditation pathway and love the church. You are a Better World Dreamer. You feel called to extend your impact beyond your local community and be involved in encouraging local communities across VIC/TAS to pray, act and give towards the world they want to see as part of God's story of restoration. Reside in greater Sydney where you are able to work remotely from home and able to attend our office approximately two days per week. You will be setup to work remotely from home and also able to attend our office approximately 2 days per week and work on Sundays (once a month) as a minimum.

This is an exceptional role and we would love you to have the following skills and attributes;

  • Active faith life including rhythms of discipleship and growth, able to participate and lead in prayer and biblical reflection sessions
  • Pastoral or ministry experience in a local Baptist churches
  • Qualifications in Theology/Divinity or equivalent preferably from an Australian Baptist college
  • Active serving Member of a local Baptist church, who is affiliated with the Baptist Association movement
  • Knowledge, understanding and commitment to the Baptist movement in Australia and alignment with the approach and ethos of the Baptist movement
  • Knowledge of global poverty and international development
  • Passion to advocate for communities in poverty
  • Proven relationship management skills
  • Excellent written communication
  • Excellence in biblical preaching
  • Ability to determine, set and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work alone on own initiatives, and to work as part of a team and department, organisation and Association.
  • Experience in meeting goals and the ability to plan, articulate, implement, and review tasks to meet operational and strategic goals.
  • A valid VIC Drivers License and full access to a car.
  • Reside in greater Sydney where you are able to work remotely from home and able to attend our office approximately two days per week.
