The Opportunity:

  • Part-Time 0.8 EFT | Fixed-term 12-month contract of employment.
  • PW5 $74,742 - $80,407 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).
  • Chadstone Campus – onsite parking and convenient access to public transport, with flexibility to travel to other campuses as required.

The People Experience (PEX) department supports the Institute in achieving its strategic goals by strengthening workforce capability and capacity. PEX delivers a wide range of human resource services including strategic planning, workforce relations, talent acquisition, capability development, diversity and equity, health, safety and wellbeing, and employee engagement. The team is committed to delivering contemporary, professional, and high-quality human resource services that enhance the experience of our staff and the broader Institute community.

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Coordinator plays a key role in advancing Holmesglen's commitment to an inclusive and equitable environment for students and staff. The role coordinates programs and initiatives across four key areas - LGBTIQ+ inclusion (Pride), gender equality, First Nations engagement, and disability inclusion - working closely with the Manager, Diversity and Equity, key internal diversity stakeholders, and our diversity working groups to deliver impactful projects and events and foster a culture of inclusion across the Institute.

As our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator, you will:

  • Support DEI Network Leads across Pride, First Nations, Gender Equality, and Disability Inclusion in planning and delivering key programs and initiatives.
  • Coordinate DEI events and activities, managing logistics and communications to ensure engaging and successful delivery.
  • Facilitate working group meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and track progress on key actions and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to promote DEI initiatives and strengthen inclusion across the Institute.
  • Monitor DEI trends, evaluate activities, and provide insights and advice to enhance inclusion, belonging, and continuous improvement.

To be successful, you'll have:

  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in Organisational Development, HR, Learning & Development, or Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, with AHRI membership highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating, and delivering DEI initiatives or events, ideally in education or community settings.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to adapt messages for different audiences.
  • Strong organisational, time management, analytical, and reporting skills.
  • A service-oriented, outcome-focused, accountable, collaborative, and adaptable work focus, with a commitment to inclusivity, ethical practice, and innovation.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to holding an employee Working with Children Check and a valid Police Check (issued within the last 12 months). A current driver's licence is preferred.
