About the role

The Education Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

  • In consultation with the Lifesaving & Education Manager confirm and deliver, current and future education needs, requirements, and priorities.
  • Identification, development, and coordination of future commercial training opportunities.
  • Provide administrative and technical support to clubs, trainers and operational committees on all matters related to education and training.
  • Actively assist with RTO compliance and reporting on commercial qualifications for members and staff.
  • Work with clubs, trainers, and assessors to support provision of training resources for staff and volunteers.
  • Support lifesaving clubs with member onboarding process.
  • Support the adoption and use of SLS information technology systems.
  • Coordinate a small training team to deliver planned courses.
  • Attend regular training and development courses, forums and meetings as required by SLSNT.
  • Coordinate training officer rostering and course scheduling.
  • Coordinate course data entry into aXcelerate & Surfguard as required.
  • Work constructively with the RTO on the development, maintenance, and improvement of course content and training resources.

The successful candidate will

Essential:

  • Have the right to work in Australia, current ochre card (working with children's check) and NT driver's licence.
  • Hold or willingness to obtain a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and experience in the delivery of first aid and or lifesaving training courses.
  • Demonstrated ability to work constructively with a wide range of stakeholders, including volunteers, commercial clients and RTO compliance staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and lead a small team of trainers in the planning and implementation of SLSNT programs
  • Competent computer skills using Microsoft Office suite, student management databases and learning management systems.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and prior experience within first aid and aquatic industry and / or experience in a surf lifesaving club or organisation.
  • Experience managing compliance within an RTO.
  • Ability to obtain a Defence Common Access Card (DCAC)
  • Willing and able to work flexible hours, including after hours and weekends.

Surf Life Saving NT is the peak organisation for surf lifesaving activities in the Northern Territory and is part of the broader Australian surf lifesaving network (Surf Life Saving Australia). Our primary role is to promote the saving of lives within the aquatic environment by supporting Clubs, members and the public through education, training and development opportunities.
