About the Role

As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a skilled Financial Business Analyst to support strategic and operational decision-making. This role provides financial insights, modelling, and performance analysis to ensure management has accurate, timely, and actionable data to drive profitability, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will connect operational performance with financial outcomes, working closely with multiple departments including Flight Operations, Engineering, and Commercial teams. This is a fast-paced, varied role requiring a proactive, analytical, and commercially minded professional. The position can be based in either Cairns or Brisbane, with occasional travel to the alternate location if based in Brisbane, as the Finance department is located in Cairns.

Key Responsibilities


• Develop and maintain financial models, conduct variance analysis, and support budgeting and forecasting cycles.


• Provide financial reporting, dashboards, and KPIs to senior management, translating operational data into actionable insights.


• Analyse costs and revenues, supporting business cases for new routes, fleet acquisitions, charter bids, and strategic partnerships.


• Assess financial risks (fuel price changes, foreign exchange, CPI, regulatory changes) and support contract negotiations.


• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments to ensure alignment between operational performance and financial outcomes.


What You Need to Succeed


• Professional accounting qualification (CPA/CA or equivalent) with 3–5 years' experience in financial or business analysis.


• Strong knowledge of airline financial metrics, aviation-related cost structures, and aviation-specific accounting standards.


• Advanced skills in Excel, financial modelling, scenario analysis, and BI/reporting tools.


• Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and commercial acumen, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
