About Us

Hillarys Yacht Club (HYC) is seeking a self starter Marketing Coordinator to join the Club's dynamic Administration team. The role works collaboratively with the Club's internal resources and its external stakeholders, to effectively and professionally coordinate and deliver outcomes that support the Club's overall business objectives and strategic direction.

Since forming in 1986 the Club has always prided itself on and has maintained its relaxed and informal atmosphere in a stunning location. The Club offers the best of the best when it comes to activities on and off the water with membership options available to suit everyone. Our Club coordinated on-water activities range from sailing, power boating, angling and diving for all ages and abilities.

The Club is also a fully licensed venue hosting numerous member and external events, with first class dining and hospitality options.

The Role

Reporting to the Membership and Moorings Officer, the role is part time with the possibility of full time hours for the right candidate. The role is responsible for:

  • coordinating Club marketing and communications campaigns including preparation of E-Newsletters, social media, development of event collateral, composition and distribution of media releases, general Club communications, advertising and general promotional materials
  • developing, designing, editing and proofing Club communications
  • website management and administration
  • campaign analysis and reporting

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Experience in a similar role with relevant or in-progress tertiary qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong initiative, problem solving skills and creative flair
  • Proven skills in key areas of marketing and communications, event promotion, print production, social media management, stakeholder relationship management and community engagement
  • Strong design capabilities and proficiency with design programs such as Canva, Adobe lndesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Attention to detail, excellent time management skills, ability to meet deadlines and the capacity to manage multiple competing priorities

Desirable

  • Digital photography and photo retouching skills
  • Experience with website administration
  • Sound knowledge of current digital and social media marketing methods, strategy and best practice
  • Understanding of web analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, Facebook Insights)
  • Experience with digital marketing processes such as PPC, display ads, SEO, SEM, would be highly regarded
