We're a small, agile team with big ambition — and we're looking for a digital all-rounder who's ready to jump in, take charge, and help us bring Playwest to life across every digital touchpoint.

The Role

The 
Digital Marketing & Content Manager
 is a hybrid role that blends creative content, social media management, and digital marketing.

You'll plan, create, and manage digital content and campaigns that build our brand, grow our audience, and connect with fans in a way that feels real, local, and exciting.

This is the perfect role for someone who's just as confident 
behind the laptop
 planning and analysing campaigns as they are 
out in the field
 — capturing moments, engaging with people, and creating content that pops.

What You'll Do

1. Social Media & Content

  • Manage Playwest's social channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok).
  • Plan and run the content calendar across key events — for example Racing, AFL, NRL, and WA moments.
  • Create, brief, and manage content — including appearing in or filming social videos.
  • Coordinate external creators, videographers, and freelancers.
  • Capture and post live content at races, events, and activations.
  • Track and report on engagement and reach.

2. Digital Campaigns & Paid Ads

  • Work with external partners to manage paid social and digital campaigns.
  • Boost and repurpose top-performing content into ads.
  • Track and report on ROI and performance metrics.

3. Email, SMS & Direct Messaging

  • Plan and produce newsletters, campaign EDMs, and direct messages.
  • Write short, on-brand copy for emails, SMS, and WhatsApp.
  • Collaborate with marketing automation partners to deliver campaigns and track results.

4. Creative & Brand Consistency

  • Use existing brand assets and templates (provided by the lead designer) to create simple, on-brand graphics for digital and social campaigns.
  • Design and build email and campaign templates
     for marketing campaigns — ensuring they're visually engaging, mobile-friendly, and aligned with key sporting events and seasonal promos (e.g. Melbourne Cup, WA Race Season, AFL Finals etc).
  • Confident using web-based marketing platforms to create, test, and send campaigns.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all visuals, tone, and messaging.

5. Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with internal team members and external partners to align campaigns with data and audience insights.
  • Provide monthly reports on social, digital, and campaign performance.

 — someone who can build smart campaigns behind the screen

 bring the brand to life out in the world.

You'll have strong digital instincts — you know how to plan, post, analyse, and optimise — but you're not just stuck behind the laptop. You're confident in front of the camera, thrive at live events, and love engaging with people and capturing authentic moments.

You get WA — its sport, racing, humour, and community — it's second nature to you. You're engaging, self-driven, and happiest when you're turning ideas into action.

You'll bring:

  • 4–6 years of experience across digital marketing, content creation, and social media.
  • A sharp understanding of digital strategy — from social to paid to email.
  • Strong creative instincts and an eye for what performs.
  • Confidence creating and editing content using Canva, CapCut, or Adobe Express.
  • Experience designing and building campaign emails or templates in marketing platforms.
  • Comfortable both behind the scenes 
    and
     in front of the camera.
  • Confident attending events, chatting to people, and creating engaging real-world content.
  • Organised, proactive, and thrives working independently in a fast-paced, small team.
