A rare opportunity with Oakey Beef Exports is available within our collaborative accounting team, providing an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts person to grow into a large, corporate accounting role.

ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

What is the opportunity?

Oakey Beef Exports is one Australia's largest beef processing plants, part of the NH Foods groups hosting multiple business entities in Australia and many more worldwide. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will:

• Assist with weekly payroll processing;

• Assist with accounts payable and bank reconciliation;

• Assist with month end and year end closing procedures and reporting;

• Assist with daily, weekly and monthly management reports;

• Prepare monthly GST reconciliations and assist with other compliance reporting;

• Assist with internal and external audit processes;

• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with staff at all levels;

• Cross-cover payroll and accounts payable when required; and

• General accounting support and ad hoc duties as directed by Finance Manager.

This position is based within our Main Office, working Monday – Friday in Oakey, QLD.

What are we looking for?

This role is suited to an individual who is well-versed in accounts and is looking for stability in a fast-paced environment. As such, you will be able to work independently and as a team. Ideally, you will:

• Be confident and capable, with demonstrated accounting experience in a similar role;

• Posses sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards and policies;

• Possess strong time management skills to meet deadlines in accordance with reporting needs;

• Be a strong communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills; and

• Possess a high level of Microsoft Excel and computer literacy.

While not essential, qualifications in accounting or finance and ERP (Oracle) experience will be highly regarded.
