We are seeking a Building and Construction Lawyer (2+ PAE) to work in our well-established workgroup with a strong client base and workflow. This position is available for an immediate start, or at a mutually agreed time.

This position is available for either Townsville or Brisbane. We welcome applications from those currently at Associate or Senior Associate level. The successful candidate may be appointed at a commensurate title, depending on experience and fit.

Our Team

We act for Principals, Contractors, Subcontractors and Consultants to ensure we can assist with both front end and back-end services.

Our team is renowned for delivering timely, cost-effective solutions for our clients and has expertise across all areas of the building and construction industry extending to everything from preparing contracts and subcontracts, training, all aspects of litigation as well as preparing and responding to payment claims, schedules and adjudication applications.

The Role

You will work under the direct supervision of our Townsville Building and Construction Partner in the areas of:

• Front end contract drafting, negotiation and administration
• Advice on issues, prospects, options, and recommended courses of action for construction
• Preparing and responding to Payment Claims, Payment Schedules, Adjudication Applications
• Advising, lodging, and responding to notices
• Dispute resolution in Construction Litigation

Your work will be generated from our existing client base, which is significantly and continuously expanding.

Enough About Us What About You?

If you:

• have 2+ PAE in Building and Construction Law, with a good knowledge of legislative requirements
• strong negotiation and litigation skills
• experience in drafting legal documents and agreements
• possess excellent communication, time management and organisational skills
• are eligible to work in Australia (citizen / permanent resident)
