Rustic Gourmet, a fast-paced, licensed café operating seven days a week, is seeking an experienced Chef to lead our boutique kitchen. We are looking for a passionate and skilled professional to take charge of our kitchen operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Menu Creation – Develop and refine seasonal menus and daily specials.
  • Production Planning – Oversee daily kitchen prep and service execution.
  • Stock Management – Ordering, stock control, and rotation to maintain efficiency and quality.
  • Service Cooking – Hands-on breakfast and lunch service in a dynamic environment.
  • Take-Home Meals & Specials – Drive creative and high-quality offerings for our customers.
  • Catering Support – Assist in the preparation of catering orders as needed.
  • Kitchen Hygiene & Organisation – Maintain a clean and compliant workspace to uphold a 5-star rating.

What we offer:

  • Salary range $70,000 to $80,000 per annum for full-time basis
  • Consistent schedule – Includes two weekend days and three weekdays.
  • Start Date: Immediate Start
  • A real food philosophy – We take pride in making everything from scratch.

Required qualification and experience:

  • At least have an AQF Diploma or higher qualification.
  • Have a trade qualification related to commercial cookery.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience working in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with busy meal service, catering and large scale meal preparation
  • Ability to maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety, ensuring
  • compliance with all health regulations.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
