The Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified and passionate Cook to join our kitchen team. This role is key to maintaining our café's reputation for high-quality food and friendly service. You will work closely with the Head Chef and management team to prepare and deliver delicious meals for our dine-in and takeaway customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to café standards and recipes.
  • Assist with menu planning, daily specials, and seasonal updates.
  • Maintain high standards of food presentation, hygiene, and safety.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering and inventory management.
  • Support the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Follow food safety procedures and comply with health regulations.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive, collaborative kitchen culture.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a café, restaurant, or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and safe food handling.
  • Passion for preparing quality food and contributing to menu innovation.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
  • Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate preferred.
