Make an impact as an Advanced Analytics Specialist.

Your Role

The purpose of this role is to use analytics and data visualisation techniques to generate meaningful insights, inform business decision-making, and drive impactful outcomes. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying analytics models and maintaining high-quality Tableau dashboards and reports, ensuring they are scalable, well-documented, and aligned with business needs.

You will collaborate closely with business units, squad leads, and technical teams to understand their needs, contributing to initiatives that enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation within the Data Analytics, Insights & AI team. This role also provides opportunities to mentor and coach junior team members, support technical capabilities across the team, and maintain advanced data analytics standards.

Success in this role will involve leveraging your analytical expertise to define and measure success metrics for business initiatives, driving actionable outcomes, and supporting continuous improvement across cross-functional projects. You will have the opportunity to shape the way data drives business decisions at IAG while fostering a positive team culture and advancing your own technical and analytical skills.

This is a 12 month max-term position, open to candidates based in Australia

About You

• Prior extensive experience in data analytics and insights; with an emphasis on report visualisation.
• Demonstrated ability to use analytical tools and techniques to solve complex business problems, coupled with the ability to synthesise data and information into actionable business decisioning.
• Excellent knowledge of visualisation tools, with a strong preference to Tableau
• Understanding of statistical modelling and machine learning techniques
• Knowledge of analytical and data modelling tools such as Python, Git, DBT
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Economics, Statistics / Analytics, Finance or related field.
