The Role
William Roberts Lawyers is seeking a Knowledge Manager to join our business support team. Reporting into a Principal Lawyer, Director, the Knowledge Manager has a key role in the collaboration and sharing of resources across the Firm, distributing knowledge, maintaining precedents and undertaking legal research.
Responsibilities
Key tasks include, but are not limited to;
- Leadership: Driving innovative methods of knowledge sharing and implementations digital systems to improve knowledge sharing.
- Precedent Management: Maintenance of all precedents in Lexis Nexis court Precedents Library, making changes as required to ensure they are up to date, and encourage the sharing of knowledge and resources across practice groups to promote a culture of collaboration.
- Revision of the firms' policies and procedures: Conduct research and provide recommendations to improve the firms processes and procedures to ensure we are aligned in the market.
- Digital transformation: Drive a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing across the firm, and act as the key point of contact between the firm and our external IT provider during system upgrades and changes.
- Learning and Development: Work with People and Performance to plan and roll out a comprehensive L&D program, with a focus on supporting lawyers with their CLE points. Source providers of CLE seminars and booking training for Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane offices as needed, as well as training new starters on the best practice of Affinity, Lexis Nexis and other tools as part of their Induction into the Firm.
About You
You will have previous experience in a similar role within a busy Commercial Litigation Law Firm. You will have hands-on experience in communicating with various stakeholders in a Law Firm, be achievement orientated, establish and maintain professional working relationships and have a great initiative for positive change and growth of the Firm.
Qualifications/Skills
- 3-5 years' experience in a similar role
- Formal qualification in Library Management or General Business Management
- Familiarity with AI and AI tools in legal research
- Stakeholder Management and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
