The Role

We're seeking a hands-on Workshop Supervisor to lead and motivate our machining team. You'll oversee day-to-day operations, drive productivity, and ensure quality standards and deadlines are consistently met.


Workshop Supervisor Duties

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate the machining team to achieve daily production targets.
  • Coordinate workflow, schedules, and priorities to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of manual and CNC machinery.
  • Troubleshoot machine and process issues to minimise downtime and maintain throughput.
  • Monitor workshop performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure safe work practices and compliance with WHS/OHS standards at all times.
  • Conduct quality inspections of machined components prior to dispatch.
  • Investigate and resolve rework requirements with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Support training and development of team members to build skills and career growth.
  • Collaborate with management, the workshop estimator, and the operations manager as part of the leadership team

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a similar supervisory position within a machine shop.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Proven organisational and time management skills.
  • A proactive attitude with a desire to learn, grow, and contribute to the business.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and support staff in their professional development.
