About The Role
Reporting to the Telecommunications IT Manager, as the Data Network Administrator is responsible for ensuring the availability and performance of voice, data and radio IP network systems including advanced fault analysis and escalation of complex problems, maintaining the integrity and security of Essential Energy's communications network, including internet gateways and firewalls.
Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring all policies, procedures and standards are adhered to and implemented in the application of day to day and ongoing Telecommunications Business Systems of work.
This is a fixed term opportunity until March 2026 and can based anywhere within Essential Energy's operational footprint .
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the provision of Telecommunications system administration of Essential Energy's Data Network systems including monitoring, reviewing and implementing system functionality, performance, availability, recoverability and network security
- Undertake the facilitation and implementation of monitoring and reviewing Data Network infrastructure, network security shields and associated Telecommunication operational components
- In collaboration with the Senior Data Networks Administrator coordinate and/or facilitate deployment and/or upgrades of Telecommunication systems, complex radio, voice, data and SCADA networks and desktop services as per the principles of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
- Developing and maintaining network topology, asset information and carriage services documentation to ensure effective maintenance, troubleshooting and reporting data is available
- Administration and testing of network management back up and effective archiving processes to ensure integrity, security and configuration data is secured and recoverable to assist in the application of the disaster recovery plan
About You
You will have demonstrated experience in a similar communication role and will have previous experience in, and specialist knowledge of Radio Communication systems, Data Communication systems and Telephony systems.
Additionally, You Will Have Experience In
- Understanding of, relevant ICT and Telecommunications processes
- Data network communication systems installation and maintenance
- Concepts and practices of ITIL business processes
- Project methodology knowledge and experience required to delivery projects
Required Qualification
- Diploma of Telecommunications Network Engineering or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications
Desirable
- ITIL Foundation certificate
- Unix/Programming, scripting experience
- CCNA (CISCO Certified Network Association)
