We are seeking a Digital Content Creator to join our team in the office of the Tasmanian Labor Leader, Hon Josh Willie MP. This role helps to engage with Tasmanians through digital mediums, deliver on long-term strategic goals and share Tasmanian stories.

What you'll do:

  • Attend events and visits with the Leader across Tasmania to capture digital content.
  • Contribute to the creation of creative and engaging content for the Leader across social media channels, including but not limited to, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
  • Provide advice and ideas to assist with growing the Leader's reach, name recognition and brand across all digital channels.
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of digital campaigns that align with the Leader's broader communications strategy, including targeted advertising spends.
  • Moderate online engagement and analyse key metrics to help inform future content and strategy.
  • Assist in the maintenance and improvement of the Tasmanian Labor website.
  • Assist with communicating with stakeholders digitally through regular email campaigns and newsletters.
  • Provide digital support and training to the Tasmanian Labor Caucus and their staff.
  • Perform other allocated duties as required.

Selection criteria:

Essential

  1. A creative and empathetic mindset that is excited about hearing and telling Tasmanian stories in new and engaging ways.
  2. Ability to communicate complex ideas, concepts and stories in succinct and persuasive ways.
  3. Professional or personal experience creating engaging and successful social media content and growing a digital audience.
  4. Highly digitally literate with experience in digital content creation software, including CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or similar.
  5. A collaborative attitude and strong interpersonal skills, with a desire to share expertise, learn new things and work together as a team towards a common goal.
  6. High-level organisational and self-management skills, including the ability to work independently to prioritise tasks and deliver outcomes under pressure.
  7. A willingness to participate in intrastate trips to capture content with the Leader.

Desirable

  1. Experience with photography and/or videography. If not – a willingness to learn. Training and equipment will be provided.
  2. An understanding of the Tasmanian political environment and the everyday struggles Tasmanians are facing will be regarded favourably.

This role requires flexibility, including some occasional evening and weekend work.
