An exceptional opportunity exists for a Building Services Manager to play a pivotal role in the strategic management and delivery of building services across a large and complex health infrastructure portfolio. This role is responsible for developing and implementing asset management plans, overseeing technical design and compliance, and supporting the delivery of sustainable, efficient, and safe healthcare environments.
You will lead the planning and execution of maintenance and renewal programs, guide operational teams on complex engineering issues, and collaborate with consultants and contractors to deliver high-quality infrastructure outcomes that align with the organisation's long-term sustainability and compliance objectives.
About You
Are you an experienced engineering professional with a deep understanding of building services, asset management, and compliance within large and complex environments - ideally within healthcare or other critical service sectors. You thrive on solving technical challenges, improving asset performance, and contributing to an organisation that genuinely makes a difference in people's lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lifecycle strategies for building services and critical infrastructure assets.
- Lead the resolution of complex technical and engineering issues across multiple healthcare sites.
- Support the delivery of capital and infrastructure projects from feasibility through to commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, Australian Standards, and the Asset Management Accountability Framework (AMAF).
- Manage budgets, performance outcomes, and contractor relationships to ensure value for money and minimal disruption to clinical operations.
- Drive initiatives in sustainability, energy management, and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and professional development for facilities and maintenance teams.
Key Selection Criteria:
- A degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (or related discipline) with 10+ years' experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems, including LV/HV power, essential services, and building management systems.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing asset management plans and capital works programs.
- Sound understanding of relevant Australian Standards, building codes, and OH&S legislation.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Chartered status (CPEng) or professional accreditation desirable.
