We are looking for an After hours GP for a practice in Sydney's West.

Lane Street Medical Centre is GP owned, state of the art, purpose built General Practice offering bulking billing services. We are experiencing a rapid growth in patient numbers and have gained recognition as a provider of a high quality general practice. The practice uses "Best Practice Software" and is AGPAL accredited.

We are looking for a general practitioner to join us. The type of person with a strong desire and commitment to practice quality general practice.

Job Description :

  • Taking appropriate history and to conduct physical examinations to determine the nature of disorders and illnesses.

  • Using the computer software in recording patient's medical information, electronic prescribing and recording treatment provided using evidence based medicine as per the Australian therapeutic guidelines.

  • Ordering appropriate and cost effective laboratory tests, Xrays and other diagnostic procedures and interpreting findings to assist in diagnosis and management of the patient's condition in general practice setting.

  • Providing comprehensive, coordinated and holistic care for patients and their families and monitoring patient's progress and response to treatment.

  • Advising cost effective treatment strategies with focus on lifestyle measures such as diet, exercise and other habits which aid prevention and treatment of disease and disorders in line with Australian general practice standards.

  • Referring patients appropriately and in a timely manner to and exchanging medical information with specialist medical practitioners to coordinate the care of patients.

  • Understanding of the reporting of births, deaths and notifiable disease to relevant local, state and federal government authorities.

  • Managing medical emergencies in general practice setting and arranging the admission of patients to hospitals as required.

  • Managing chronic disease in general practice setting.

The candidate should have a FRACGP qualification and must not have any moratorium or restrictions to work in the area. (VR - must hold Specialist Registration with AHPRA). We are looking for an After Hours doctor, so working hours are : Weekdays - 6pm to 11pm, Weekends and Public holidays 8.30am to 11pm. Minimum 35 hours per week.
