STUDENT RESIDENCE MANAGEMENT COUPLE

Commencing January 2026 – Chinchilla, Queensland

Leichhardt House Student Residence is a small, community-focused, weekday-only boarding facility providing care for rural high school students. We are seeking a dedicated couple with an ABN to join our team as a Contract Management / House Parents. Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for students attending local high schools.


About the Role

As Managers at Leichhardt House, you will:

  • Oversee the daily operations of our small student boarding facility, including the coordination of routines, supervision of daily activities, and ensuring that both the boys' and girls' dorms run smoothly, safely, and in line with Leichhardt House policies and values.
  • Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and pastoral care of all residents.
  • Support students with their academic and personal development.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, schools, and the Leichhardt House Committee.
  • Implement policies and procedures to maintain a safe, well-managed environment.
  • Carry out regular cleaning and light maintenance of the facility.
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals to support a healthy diet for students.
  • Promote and uphold child safety in every aspect of your work.

Work Hours

  • Monday to Friday during school terms only, including four nights per week.
  • Weekends and school holidays free, supporting a healthy work–life balance.

  • A private, fully air-conditioned three-bedroom home on-site, available year-round.
  • All utilities included.
  • Ideal for a couple seeking both a home and a meaningful role.

We Are Looking For

  • Strong leadership, organisational and administrative skills.
  • Experience working with children and/or young adults (desirable).
  • Commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.
  • Willingness to follow policies and procedures, and uphold child safety at all times.
  • Practical skills in cleaning, washing and food preparation.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Current Blue Card and relevant first aid qualifications (or willingness to obtain).
